Elaine Yao is a Managing Director in the New York office. With over twenty years of investment banking experience, Ms. Yao provides strategic advisory, merger and acquisition advisory, and capital markets services to a variety of healthcare clients – including healthcare systems, independent hospitals, specialty hospitals and Catholic hospitals. Her recent clients include Catholic Health Initiatives (CO), Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (LA), Highmark Inc. (PA), John Muir Health (CA), Saint Mary’s Health System (CT), Texas Health Resources, Western Connecticut Health Network (CT), West Virginia United Health System (WV), Baptist Health (KY), Orange Regional Medical Center (NY), Virginia Mason Medical Center (WA), PeaceHealth (WA), Marin Healthcare District (CA), and Reading Health System (PA).
Prior to joining Hammond Hanlon Camp LLC, Ms. Yao was a senior vice president in the healthcare investment banking group at Morgan Keegan (formerly Shattuck Hammond Partners) where she provided M&A and capital markets advisory services to a variety of healthcare clients including multi-billion dollar systems, faith-based systems, community hospitals, and regional health systems. Ms. Yao is experienced in providing strategic options assessment, joint venture structuring, sell side and buy side M&A, strategic capital planning and capital markets services to her clients.
Ms. Yao started her career in the municipal finance department of Goldman Sachs & Co., structuring new money offerings, advance refunding issues and innovative debt products. During her tenure at Goldman, Ms. Yao worked on over $3 billion in financings, and later worked on the debt capital markets desk in the London office of Goldman Sachs. She received an M.B.A. degree from INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France and a B.S. in Finance and Political Science from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, magna cum laude.
