Hammond Hanlon Camp LLC Welcomes Joseph Trunfio as a Special Advisor to the Firm
posted on September 22 2015

NEW YORK — Hammond Hanlon Camp LLC (“H2C”), a healthcare-focused strategic advisory and investment banking firm, announces that Joseph Trunfio, former president and chief executive officer of Atlantic Health System, has joined H2C as a Special Advisor.  In this role, Mr. Trunfio will enhance the firm's advisory services and expand relationships with leading health systems and related organizations across the country.

“I am proud to welcome Joe to the firm.  H2C has closely followed Joe’s achievements at Atlantic Health and have been long-time admirers of his success.  We all look forward to working with Joe to expand our advisory franchise,” stated Michael B. Hammond, Principal, H2C.

Mr. Trunfio spent over 16 years at Atlantic Health, including 15 years as CEO, and, during his tenure, the health system grew from 5,000 employees in three counties to nearly 14,000 employees throughout northern New Jersey and along the Pennsylvania border.  He also led the strategic expansion of the system, with the additions of Newton Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center, to meet the needs of the organization and the region during a time of tumultuous change in the local, statewide and national healthcare climate.

“Having been a friend and client of the firm for years, it is truly exciting to join H2C.  I am thrilled to have the opportunity to collaborate with the firm to assist health systems that are facing many of the same strategic and financial challenges that we encountered at Atlantic Health,” added Mr. Trunfio.

In addition to expanding the reach of Atlantic Health, in 2013, Mr. Trunfio led the organization to develop AllSpire Health Partners, an alliance of seven healthcare systems that have collaborated to serve patients, families, and communities in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania.  AllSpire seeks to improve the quality, affordability and access to health care by sharing clinical, intellectual and economic capabilities. Mr. Trunfio also oversaw the 2011 creation of the Atlantic Accountable Care Organization, one of the largest in the nation, which serves to keep communities healthy and focuses on prevention and wellness.
