Mike McCullough   Senior Associate, New York

Mr. McCullough provides transaction and analytical support to senior bankers on a broad range of strategic advisory, merger and acquisition, and capital markets engagements.

Mike McCullough is a Senior Associate in H2C’s New York office. Over the past eight years, Mike has provided advisory and banking services to a broad array of not-for-profit and municipal institutions. Mike has assisted issuers with long-term fixed-rate debt financings, short-term notes, variable-rate debt products, swaps, private activity bonds (PABs), certificates of participation (COPs), competitive and negotiated underwritings, direct placements, revolving credit facilities, Build America Bonds (BABs), cross-over refundings, non-callable bond restructurings, bond buybacks, and project financings.

Prior to joining H2C, Mike served as analytical lead for bond structuring and capital markets analysis on municipal market underwritings, guaranteed investment contracts (GIC), and prepay natural gas transactions at SMBC’s Public and Infrastructure Finance group, which underwrites securities in partnership with SMBC Nikko Securities. In this capacity, Mike worked on the $6.5 billion CommonSpirit merger (2019) and subsequent $2.2 billion tax-exempt and taxable corporate CUSIP financing (2020). He was responsible for managing the bank’s $4 billion portfolio of municipal GIC deposits and creating a suite of models to support the bank’s prepay gas transaction business.

At SMBC, Mike also supported origination, credit analysis, and execution of letter of credit and loan facilities, monitoring an $8 billion portfolio that included Christus Health, Parkview Health, University of Chicago Medical Center, Trinity Health, Mass General, and Dignity Health.
