Phil Kaplan is a Managing Director in the Chicago office of Hammond Hanlon Camp LLC, advising clients on strategic assessments, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and real estate transactions.
Mr. Kaplan has served as an investment banker to national and regional health systems, major academic medical centers and large community hospitals since 2002. Prior to joining H2C, Mr. Kaplan was a Director in the Wells Fargo Securities Public Finance Healthcare Group, a Vice President in the Goldman Sachs Public Finance Healthcare Group and an Associate in Citi’s Municipal Securities Healthcare Group. He has executed transactions for some of the most prestigious health systems in the country including Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Partners HealthCare, and has managed debt issuances with a par value of over $2 billion.
Before focusing on the healthcare sector, Mr. Kaplan worked in the Mergers and Acquisition Advisory Group in the Chicago office of Houlihan Lokey and as an Investment Finance Specialist at the Citibank Private Bank. He began his career as a Financial Analyst at American National Bank in Chicago.
Mr. Kaplan received his MBA with Honors from the University of Chicago Booth Graduate School of Business and his BS in Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
