H2C Enhances Its Capabilities to Serve the Higher Education Sector
August 2022

H2C recruits senior leaders as part of its commitment to meet the growing needs of colleges and universities.
H2C Securities Inc. announces the hiring of higher education sector leaders Emily Abrantes and Tom Morsch as part of its commitment to meet the evolving and growing needs of colleges and universities.
Ms. Abrantes and Mr. Morsch bring over 50 years of combined experience and more than $50 billion of transaction experience working with colleges and universities to provide innovative solutions and drive better outcomes for Higher Education institutions. Michael Tierney will join Ms. Abrantes and Mr. Morsch as a member of the leadership team. Mr. Tierney brings 15 years of experience providing both financial and strategic advisory services to not-for-profit organizations.
H2C has a record of achievement serving the not-for-profit sector for over 30 years, with a focus on strategic and financial advisory services, from Capital Markets to Mergers and Acquisitions to Real Estate. The specialized capabilities of H2C’s leadership team and its depth of experience led to the firm’s merger with Fifth Third Bank in January 2021, enabling both organizations to better serve a client base that is growing increasingly larger and more complex.
Specialized Expertise to Address Higher Education’s Biggest Challenges
The Higher Education sector is rapidly changing, creating both opportunities and challenges for leaders. Core drivers of change include: changing demographics and increased competition for students; aging facilities; a technology-focused shift in capital investment needs; a heightened focus on environmental, social, and governance issues; increased private sector involvement; changing regulations; and increased pressure to diversify revenue and tighten expenses. These challenges are leading Higher Education institutions to:
-
Rationalize student housing, facilities, and real estate in the current environment
-
Examine opportunities for partnerships, joint ventures, affiliations, and mergers
-
Assess relationships with academic medical centers
-
Optimize capital raising through public and private capital market transactions
H2C’s professionals serve as an extension of Higher Education institutions’ management team, using market insights and experience to deliver exceptional outcomes.
We begin by identifying and conceptualizing the goals and objectives of our clients. We then craft the framework and analysis to help clients select the optimal result for their organization. At every turn, we produce results that align with the objectives of key stakeholders.
