Tom Barry has more than 35 years of experience providing investment banking services to healthcare clients across the nation. During this time he has led hundreds of capital markets and change-of-control transactions. His clients have included major public and private universities, academic medical centers, multi-hospital systems, freestanding acute care hospitals, managed care plans and senior care providers.
In the past 20 years, Mr. Barry has focused almost entirely on change of control transactions. Some of these have been completed for strong credits while others have been completed for weaker credits either in or out of a Chapter 11 proceeding. Mr. Barry has completed more sales of acute care hospitals through the Bankruptcy Court process than any other investment banker. He has recently completed engagements for Saint Vincent’s Catholic Medical Centers (NY), Doctors Community Hospital Foundation (AZ), National Benevolent Association (MO), Passaic Beth Israel Hospital (NJ) and Bayonne Medical Centers (NJ).
Prior to the formation of Hammond Hanlon Camp LLC, Mr. Barry was a Managing Director at Kidder Peabody, CS First Boston and most recently Cain Brothers, where he served on the Executive Committee. He has served on many not-for-profit boards for both healthcare and educational organizations. In addition, Mr. Barry is a frequent speaker at industry programs and seminars on topics related to healthcare. Mr. Barry is a graduate of the University of Virginia (B.A.) and the University of Chicago (M.B.A.) with specializations in both healthcare and finance. He is married and has two adult children.
