In the first half of 2019, laboratory M&A transactions were on par with volume for the first half of 2019 following a robust finish in Q4 2018. Seven transactions were recorded in Q2 2019 as leaders in this space sought to build market share and as provider-based and independent labs looked for ways to streamline costs and improve the accuracy of tests, largely through automation.
